Ilenia Notarangelo is an Italian designer and director. After her degree in Cinema & Media engineering and work experiences both in the cinema and digital industries, she founded 5 years ago ILLO, a design-driven studio with a focus on video and motion graphics. She now leads the team as Creative Director: clients include Bloomberg, Ferrero & UEFA and innovative international startups.

Her work has been featured in Wine After Coffee, Creative Quarterly and WeTransfer.

She also currently teaches Digital Animation at IED Design School in Turin.

Her interest spans from design to technology, with a deep passion for what’s next in both fields: her trust on the future relies on Artificial Intelligences, nordic stationery and looped set design gifs.

Leah Nelson

Leah is Co-founder and Creative Director at Giant Ant – a motion design and storytelling studio based in Vancouver, Canada. With a focus on creating content for brands with social causes, Giant Ant has worked with brands like TOMS, Costa Del Mar, NRDC and Coastal eyewear, to name a few. In their more traditional advertising work, they’ve created content for brands like Target, Visa, WIRED Magazine, Facebook and lululemon. Leah is currently working on a feature-length animated film about Alzheimers Disease called Tangles, adapted from a graphic novel. Whatever the creative or marketing challenge, they strive to produce beautiful images and tell good stories. Giant Ant is comprised of a small but dedicated team of artists, animators, musicians and film makers who believe deeply in the powerful combination of good storytelling, and exquisite design, to deliver messages that have impact and are remembered.

Marvin Koppejan is the founder and creative director of Woodwork, an Amsterdam based design and motion studio. Trained in graphic design and motion, Marvin has specialised in motion direction. Gaining experience as a freelancer, working for agencies and brands both national and international, over five years ago he founded Woodwork. As the creative director he works together with a team of driven designers, illustrators and animators, combining out of the box creativity with honest craftsmanship, striving to create high-end relevant work that tells compelling stories.

Sophia is a multi award-winning designer in the broadcast design industry.

With 20 years experience at the BBC, her work has been seen and enjoyed by millions of viewers worldwide.

She has also carved a career as a freelancer, working with exciting clients and projects from documentaries to programme brands.

She is hugely passionate about storytelling and the moving image and always embracing new skills while enhancing those she already has.

Sophia is a full voting member at BAFTA and an active PromaxBDA member where she was recently invited to judge the PromaxBDA Global Excellence Awards.

Thomas Bay
Thomas BayFrame - Denmark
For over 13 years, Thomas Bay has remained one of the partners in Frame, having founded the company in 2004, before the well-known visual director Anders Schroder entered as a Creative Director and Partner. Thomas graduated from University of Toronto with a diploma in 3D design & animation. Following his time in Canada, he worked as a motion designer at Viasat Sport, creating show titles for a broad variety of sports. Thomas has over 20 years of experience in broadcast design and commercials. He is a visually driven Creative Executive Producer, working closely with his motion design team at Frame. Frame has won several Promax and Creative Circles awards, from campaigns for channel rebrands to working with global brands, the likes of which include Jaguar, Porsche, Nike, Adidas, FOX Sports, Samsung and Premier League. Thomas relies on great teamwork & collaboration with his colleagues in order to ensure that Frame consistently provides world-class creative output.

Veronika Pell

I moved to Moscow from Helsinki to study feature film direction in VGIK (The Russian State University of Cinematography). Then worked in film production in various roles. In 2012 I was asked to join Viacom International Media Networks to launch Russian Comedy Central channel, which is called Paramount Comedy here. Now I am Creative Producer for all Comedy & Entertainment (Paramount Channel and Spike) brands , creating channel design, taking care of promo production, local talent search and long format show development. I’m big fan of animation, and that’s why most of our interstitials are fun animated sketches. Paramount Comedy has won several Mediabrand awards, especially for our animated logo designs.

Edgar Tang

EDGAR TANG is an award-winning senior creative at HBO Asia who specializes in on-air/digital promotions for all things entertaining. He has led on-air creative teams at Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific and the Middle-East Broadcasting Centre (Dubai), and is a recipient of over 30 industry awards from PromaxBDA (Global, Arabia & Asia) and the New York Festivals.

A filmmaker on the side, Edgar’s narrative works have been recognized by international film festivals in New York, London and Seoul. He was creative producer on TIFF-alumnus Ken Kwek’s «Sex.Violence.FamilyValues» (2013) — a collection of satirical shorts that was originally (and controversially) banned in Singapore.

In 2013, he co-directed «I Hugged The Berlin Patient», an acclaimed documentary about his spontaneous search for the first person cured of HIV. It is the first Singapore documentary to secure worldwide release on iTunes.

Ralph Karam is a Brazilian graphic designer with a great passion for animation and motion graphics.

Living in Buenos Aires he had the opportunity to work with several studios where he shared and learned with some of the most talented professionals of this field in Latin America.

At the present, Ralph works as Creative Director at Le Cube, an Award-winning animation-production company where he’s a partner and founder.

In the last years, he’s been working and living between Brazil and Argentina, directing animated films for several countries in North and Latin America, Europe and Middle East, doing projects for advertising and TV broadcast.

During the past 10 years, we evolve ,through the technologie but also through developing internally new skills, motion, 3d, directing.

We want to stay as a studio we are not an agency, we are craftsmanship, and this in our dna.

When Duncan’s not playing cars with his 2 sons, he’s working on ways to change the worlds perspective of how media is digested with the aim of enhancing viewer experience as well as vastly altering viewing habits.

After Graduating in Visual Communication at Wolverhampton University, UK. He started out in the industry by working on innovative projects such as Warp TV, an inspiring concept to bring streaming TV to the web back in 2000.

Now almost 20 years on, he is a multi award winning designer and head of Creative for a leading global broadcaster based in Qatar, where he has made his home for the past 11 years.
